Sunday morning we agreed to meet the Fiskeaux family at church in Eagle River, they’re in town after a conference in the lower 48.   On the way, I called NICU just to check in on Caleb.   The nurse said, “I’ve been waiting for you to call, and I have news!  You’re going to need to bring a car seat with you tomorrow!”  It took a minute for it to register that she was saying Caleb was well enough to come home.   It took a good bit of the day on Monday to go through the discharge process, it was almost surreal.   I couldn’t help but cry in gratitude as we walked through those hallways with our arms full of wee Caleb and all of his little paraphernalia!   We were taking him home!   Well, sort of, Miss Sue’s house in Anchorage has definitely become our home base, and until the Lord lets us return to Nome, he seems to like it just fine!   I don’t think any celebrity has ever received a finer welcome than this man received from his siblings. The most special was the little songs they all sang to him, impromptu and from the heart!
