Waiting to meet Caleb
Waiting to meet Caleb
Good news at last!
Sunday, June 21, 2009
At last, Noah, Shaina, and Kate have met their little brother! Shaina talked to him in such a high pitched and gentle little voice! They couldn’t touch him, but at least they have seen him. In the usual resilience of childhood, they didn’t seem too bothered by the tubes and lines all around him. This is going to be a short post, as Monday is a big day for us and I need to get to bed. But I had to tell you all that at last, we have had good news! After two days of regressing, Caleb finally has made a bit of progress and his left lung has cleared a little. He is still on the ventilator, but they have found another drug that when added to the morphine keeps him more still and less combative. It’s made for a more restful day for him, and we are grateful for even a little bit of good news. I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed with heading into tomorrow, and praying that the Lord directs us through those test. I think I’m due for four of them tomorrow! Bless you all for praying, we’ll keep in touch!
Noah, Shaina, Kate, and Wesley on the swing at wonderful “Miss Sue’s” house. They are enjoying playing outside and hoping to meet their little brother for the first time later this evening.
